A Visit to The Energy Barre | The North Shore Moms

In my opinion the best fitness classes are so much fun you forget you’re working out. And that was my experience when I visited The Energy Barre last week. Owner and founder of the Energy Barre, Julianna Curtis (read more about her in this Meet a Mom Interview) invited me to try a Rhythm & Matte class at her Beverly location.

I had never taken an in-studio class at The Energy Barre, but I have taken a few of their Energy Barre On Demand classes when I’ve been traveling, and I thought they were simple to follow and resulted in great workouts. So when I entered the studio and met the instructor, Katie, I commented on what a calming, beautiful space it was. She laughed in response and said it wouldn’t be that calm once class got started.

So true! The next 45 minutes were a mix of dancing to fun music, feeling uplifted by the great energy of the class, sweating like crazy and a little bit of mat work. Katie is an upbeat instructor and so encouraging! Even though this was my first class, and I didn’t know all the dance moves, I felt very comfortable.

I would recommend Rhythm & Matte to anyone who likes dance or HIIT fitness classes. If that’s not right for you, The Energy Barre also offers Barre, Sculpt, Yoga, heated classes and more. They have the Beverly location that I visited, plus three more locations in Stoneham, North Reading and Medford.

If you can’t make it to one of the studios, they also have a huge selection of fitness classes available at The Energy Barre On Demand, along with mindfulness and meditation videos. Access it all from anywhere, including their dedicated app, for a $29.99/month (save 50% off your first month of The Energy Barre On Demand with code NSMOMS).
