We are thrilled to announce that the library is launching a weekly chess club! Whether you’re a seasoned strategist or looking to shake the rust off your game, we invite you to join us for an afternoon of friendly competition and community.

Here are the details:

Who: All ages are welcome! From children to seniors, we encourage a multi-generational playing environment.

Skill Level: All levels are welcome; however, participants should have a basic knowledge of how the pieces move. Complete beginners are welcome to come and learn by watching!

The Format: Each session will begin with a short, 15-minute lesson or theory discussion (if necessary) followed by open play.

Supplies: No need to bring your own set—all boards and pieces will be provided by the library.

Important Guidelines:

Supervision: To ensure a great experience for everyone, children under the age of 11 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Atmosphere: This is a casual club focused on learning and fun—perfect for those looking to improve their game in a low-pressure setting.
