Meet Caitlin Bertolon
Where are you from originally and what town do you live in now?
I’m originally from Morristown, New Jersey and now live in Wenham, Massachusetts.
How many children do you have and what are their age(s)?
My husband, John, and I welcomed our first child last year. Her name is Shea and she is about 15 months old.
What’s your favorite family activity on the North Shore?
Family activities can be tough at Shea’s age, so we really cherish our walks! We are so lucky to have the beautiful Trustees trails on the North Shore, some of which are just walking distance from our home.

Where’s your favorite place to eat and/or shop on the North Shore?
I love Honeycomb in Hamilton for their delicious baked goods and iced mocha latte! For shopping, I love Muzio Designs in Essex. They have a great assortment of decor, art and furniture that you don’t see in big box retail stores. That said, I still try to support my local Target and Home Goods 🙂 especially if I’m trying to put the finishing touches on a space.
Tell us a little bit about your background and how you came to start CB Home Interior Decorating.
My background is in fashion and retail merchandising. I worked eight years for the luxury home brand, Serena & Lily, where I most recently held the position of Merchandise Manager and Art Curator. In this role I was responsible for creating in-store vignettes – selecting furniture, textiles, and decorative accessories – and curating the art assortment available for sale in-store and online.
I left the company in the summer of 2023 to be at home with Shea, unsure if I would ever return to the corporate world.
Fast forward a few months, I was getting the itch to do something creative. If I wasn’t reading a book on decorating, I was re-designing a room in our home (and driving my husband nuts in the process!) It became pretty clear that it was time to put my passion to good use. CB Home was born!

What type of decorating services do you offer?
Clients can choose between two design packages: Design-Only or Full-Service. Design-Only includes space planning, color schemes, furniture selection, drapery, lighting & decor. This option is perfect for those who want to implement the design at their own pace. The second option is Full-Service, which includes everything from the design-only option, plus I handle all order management, delivery & install. I try and draw on my prior experience at Serena & Lily by bringing unique value to clients through art curation and my knack for styling spaces. To me, these final touches can truly elevate a space.
What towns do you work in?
I cover the entire North Shore but can help people remotely too!

How would a mom connect with you about a possible project?
The best way to get in touch is by filling out a simple questionnaire on my website. I am also actively checking email ([email protected]) and would be happy to chat there first or hop on a quick call!
What’s your favorite room in your own home?
Right now I would say my dining room because I just finished it! The walls were painted a bold blue (Oval Room Blue by Farrow & Ball), and I’m getting a set of 4 original pieces commissioned by artist Amy Crabb, which should really finish off the space. I can’t wait to host family in this room over the holidays.

Any tips for balancing work & motherhood?
Be kind to yourself because it’s not an easy task, and there are only so many hours in the day. Take 30 minutes each morning and go for a walk, listen to a podcast or catch-up with family and friends. Starting the day doing something for you will promote good energy and a healthy mindset to be a good mom! Take the weekends to unplug from work and spend time with your family.
What is the best piece of mom advice you ever received?
To try and roll with the punches, and that there’s no, “one way,” to do it. There are so many opinions on the internet & social media, but at the end of the day, it’s important to do what feels right for you and your child. And while motherhood has its challenges, I wouldn’t trade it for the world. It’s the most rewarding job and I love watching Shea learn and grow each day.

What’s your favorite thing to do when you need some “me” time?
I love getting a manicure and pedicure while listening to one of my favorite podcasts, Business of Home!
