The start of the school year is a busy time for families. This Guide is here to help! Find after school activities to enroll your kids in, meal delivery options to save time in the kitchen, and parenting support for when challenges arise during this transition to a new season.

Tuesday after school classes will focus on Broadway Show Tunes. For  ages 4-11 and classes include acting, improv games, karaoke, dress up and more.

Greater Boston Stage Co – The Young Company

Students in grades 7-12 can try out for The Young Company’s 24 Hour Musical: We Will Rock You, during the week of September 22 (exact dates TBD). Musical rehearsal and performance will take place on October 3 & 4.

Ekletico School of Music

Piano, guitar, voice, bass, drums, violin, songwriting and ukelele lessons for all ages. Rolling enrollment.

Maritime Music Studio
36 Walnut Street, Peabody
Kids ages 3 -12 can sign up for a Music Immersion Program exploring different instruments and kids age 13+ can sign up for an Artist Program which includes private instruction in songwriting, recording their own material, or preparing for performances. Rolling enrollment.

The Music Connection
67 High Street, Danvers
Kids ages 1-7 can join Music Fun Time Classes on Saturday mornings. These classes teach kids how to play, read and enjoy music at a young age. Rolling enrollment. After school lessons also available for all ages in piano, voice, drums, guitar, ukulele and more.

After school girl scout programs offered in most towns for kids in Kindergaretn and up. Rolling enrollment and meeting days and times vary by town.

After school scout program offered for boys and girls, in most towns, beginning with Kindergarten age kids. Rolling enrollment and meeting days and times vary by town.

FREE LIBRARY CLUBS

Hamilton-Wenham Public Library
14 Union Street, S. Hamilton
After school on Fridays (3:15-4:15pm) find a rotating schedule of offerings for ages 3 through elementary school including Science Fridays and Family LEGO Club. Free and no registration required. Begins September 5.

Ipswich Public Library
25 N Main Street, Ipswich
Monthly book clubs available after school for first graders, third graders and teens (free, registration required). Begins late September.

Peabody Institute Library of Danvers
15 Sylvan Street, Danvers
Monthly LEGO Club from 3:30-4:30pm on Thursdays, begins on 9/25. For ages 5-11. Free and no registration needed. Drop in, first come first served.

Flint Public Library
1 S. Main Street, Middleton
On the second Friday of each month explore various video games, gaming systems, board games, and gaming books with friends at Gaming Club. Club is held from 12:30-2pm (free, registration is required). In addition the Flint will also hold STEM Club for tweens on Tuesdays, monthly, from 4-4:45pm (free, registration required).

Peabody Institute Library
82 Main Street, Peabody
Kids ages 8-12 can join Art Club on the last Tuesday of every month from 3:30-4:30pm at the South Branch (free, registration required). Readers in grades 4 or 5 can join a monthly book clubs for their respective grades. Once per month on Thursdays from 3:30-4:30pm at the South Branch (free, registration required). Clubs begin in September.

Salem Public Library
370 Essex Street, Salem
Kids and adults can join Chess Club, which meets weekly from 6:30-7:30pm on Tuesdays, beginning September 23 (free, registration required). Biweekly on Saturday mornings from 10:30-11:30am, kids ages 4+ with caregiver, can drop by the library for LEGO Club (free, registration required). Begins 9/13.
