Father’s Day is this weekend and we’re excited to introduce you to one very cool dad in our latest interview. Met Sal Longo, owner of Busy Bee Jumpers! Sal and Busy Bee are responsible for bringing the fun to parties all across Massachusetts and Rhode Island in the form of bouncy houses, waterslides, tents and more. I’m personally a repeat customer of Busy Bee and can’t recommend them enough! The 5-star team that Sal has created at Busy Bee Jumpers provides the BEST customer service, and their same-day rental cancellations by 8AM policy, makes renting with them a no-brainer for any party. Keep reading to learn more about how Sal got started with Busy Bee and how he strives to make the most of the life he shares with his daughter.
Where are you from originally and what town do you live in now?
I’m originally from East Bridgewater, where I grew up and graduated high school. Now, I live in Hanover, MA with my daughter. I’m really proud of the community here—it’s a great place to raise a family, and I feel lucky to be able to watch Aurora grow up in such a wonderful town.
How many children do you have and what are their age(s)?
I have one daughter named Aurora, and she’s 3 years old. She’s full of energy and keeps me on my toes with her vibrant outgoing personality—always dressing up and making every moment unforgettable.

What’s your favorite family activity in or around Boston?
Aurora and I absolutely love going to live shows together—whether it’s Paw Patrol, Bluey, or something else that sparks her excitement. Seeing the joy on her face as she watches her favorite characters come to life is priceless. After the show, we always make it a special tradition to grab dinner and then head out for dessert in Boston. It’s the perfect way to cap off a magical day. I cherish these moments with her more than anything. Watching her experience the world through her eyes is one of the greatest gifts of fatherhood.
Where’s your favorite place to eat and/or shop in or around Boston?
Aurora and I love dining at Davio’s—she’s especially a fan of their egg rolls and the pasta & meatball dish. We enjoy a little shopping at Target, where she has become quite the fashionista. She absolutely loves clothes and getting dressed up, always picking out the cutest outfits. She loves expressing herself through clothes.

Tell us a little bit about your background and how you came to own Busy Bee Jumpers.
I have been a part of Busy Bee Jumpers since 2002, joining just four years after the company was founded. I first started working for Busy Bee Jumpers while still in high school, taking on weekend shifts to deliver bounce houses and help with set-ups and take-downs. I continued with the company throughout college at Bridgewater State University, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration. After graduating, I transitioned to a full-time position at Busy Bee Jumpers, furthering my commitment to the business and becoming a partner in 2009. I acquired the company from the founders, Jim and Denise Coffey, in 2021.

What can you rent from Busy Bee Jumpers?
Busy Bee Jumpers offers a wide range of party rentals suitable for various events. Our inventory includes Bounce Houses, Obstacle Courses, Water Slides, Tents, Tables and Chairs, Fun Food Machines and Interactive Games.

Where does Busy Bee deliver?
Busy Bee delivers to cities and towns across Massachusetts and Rhode Island. However, our service area is rapidly growing as we have many more locations in development across the country.
You recently expanded the business to offer franchise opportunities. Can you tell us a little more about that?
After over two decades of building a strong brand and gaining trust within the community, we realized there’s a growing demand for our services beyond just Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The decision to franchise allows us to bring the same level of fun, reliability, and customer service that our local customers have come to expect to new markets. We want to give passionate entrepreneurs the chance to be part of our success story while continuing to uphold the high standards that have made Busy Bee Jumpers a beloved name in the party rental industry. This is just the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our company, and we couldn’t be more excited to see how this new growth will allow us to bring smiles to even more families across the country. We recently sold franchises in Worcester, Cape Cod and Rhode Island. Our new franchises will be open for business as of May 1, 2025. We expect to open another 10 franchises across the country by the end of 2025.

Which rental is your favorite?
My favorite rental has to be the Combo Bounce House. It’s unique, simple, yet so much fun, and perfect for all ages. The slide and basketball hoop keep everyone entertained, making it a great choice for parties. The combo is Aurora’s favorite too, it always tires her out and it warms my heart seeing her fall asleep so quickly after a day full of jumping. When summer hits, the Water Slides are my favorite. They are a blast for all ages, there’s nothing like it on a hot day—it’s pure fun!
What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
One thing people might be surprised to know about me is that, while I may come off as this strong and sometimes intense guy I’m incredibly caring and grounded. I genuinely care about the well-being of others and always try to lead with heart.

Any tips for balancing work & fatherhood?
Balancing work and fatherhood is something I take seriously. I always try to be present when I’m with Aurora—no matter how important work and Busy Bee are to me, nothing compares to being there for her. I don’t want to miss a single moment of her childhood, and I want her to know that she’s my number one priority. I try to create routines that allow for both—making time for her in the mornings, having fun on the weekends, and enjoying the little moments we share. It’s all about finding that balance and remembering that time with her is precious. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing her smile and knowing I’m giving her the best I can.

What is the best piece of parenting advice you ever received?
The best piece of parenting advice I ever received was to be present and cherish the little moments. Time moves so fast, especially when they’re young, and sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in work or other distractions.
What’s your favorite thing to do when you need some “me” time?
When I need some “me” time, I hit the gym. It’s been a game-changer for me—not just mentally, but physically too. The gym helps me clear my mind, stay focused, and build the energy I need to keep pushing forward. It’s not just about the physical transformation—it’s about the discipline, the grind, and the mental toughness it builds. It’s my time to recharge and get ready to take on whatever comes next, whether in business or in life.
