Feast & Fettle – A Review of Their Home-Cooked Meal Delivery Service | The North Shore Moms

Do you like to cook? I have to admit, I don’t and I’m also not great at it. But my family likes to eat a home-cooked meal every night, so as a result I’ve tried lots of meal delivery services. The ones I have experience with usually send the ingredients and then a, “quick and easy recipe,” that typically takes me double the advertised time to make. So I was a little skeptical when Feast & Fettle reached out to me and offered to send me one week of meals in exchange for my honest review, at the start of October. But I do love to support small businesses and Feast & Fettle is a meal delivery service, based in Providence, Rhode Island, that brings family-friendly, fully cooked meals to homes across the North Shore. Since the meals are already cooked, I figured I couldn’t mess them up without trying really hard!

What I Got

I was gifted the Couples Plan Tier 3–which includes four entrees and six sides. The portion of each item is supposed to feed two people. I ordered:

Entrees

  • Simply Grilled Chicken Breast
  • Mexican Quinoa Salad w/ Cilantro Lime Crema
  • Braised Mexican Beef w/ Cumin-Lime Crema
  • Grilled Strip Steak w/ Chipotle-Pumpkinseed Salsa

Sides

  • Crisp Green Salad w/ Champagne Vinaigrette
  • Southwest Spinach Salad w/ Chipotle Ranch Dressing
  • Roasted Yukon Gold Potatoes w/ Bravas Sauce
  • Sweet & Salty Cookie (2)
  • Grilled Mexican Street Corn

Are the Meals Allergy & Family-Friendly?

I tried to get some things that went together and there were enough choices to mix and match based on food preferences. We are fortunate to not have any food allergies (but there are some options available that cater to those who are allergic). We do however, have a very picky 5 year old son. He was not interested in most of this, but it was nice that I only had to cook his dinner and reheat something from Feast & Fettle, instead of cooking multiple meals from scratch. If your kids eat more than the same five things for dinner every night you will probably have more luck.

My Favorites

My top picks were the Mexican Quinoa Salad with Cilantro Lime Crema, which I made into a bowl with the Braised Mexican Beef and Southwest Spinach Salad.

The portions were pretty big, and I definitely had extras to make a couple bowls for lunch too. And the cookies were a delicious dessert. These were a definite time saver and added some new flavors into the week, that aren’t normally included in the basic recipes I usually make.

I have to say that everything far exceeded my expectations, except for the steak. I did not like the taste of it reheated, but other people may feel differently.

In Conclusion

Feast & Fettle is a great choice for busy moms. I have a second delivery (that I paid for myself) coming soon, with a few add-ons specially for my son (meatballs and veggies and hummus). I can also see it being a great gift for a new mom!

Special Discount

Feast & Fettle also gave me a great discount code to share with moms in this community. Save 30% off your first order with code NSM30 at feastandfettle.com.
