What’s your favorite family activity on the North Shore?
For both of us, being working moms, any activity just spending time with our families is our favorite. Whether it is going to the beach or just dancing in the living room, family time is the best time.

Where’s your favorite place to eat and/or shop on the North Shore?
We love supporting other local business, so for breakfast it might be a coffee or dessert from Sweet Java or a delicious bagel from Bagel World, lunch could be take out from Vesuvius and going to Marblehead Lighthouse for a picnic and for dinner, Ledger in Salem or The Blue Ox in Lynn are big faves of ours!

Tell us a little bit about your background and how you got started as with The Sweet Truck Ice Cream.
Both of us have been involved in the marketing, events, and public relations industries for years. Shara previously owned a party planning business and had done a lot of ice cream truck rentals in the past. We were both looking for a “passion project” last summer and thought it would be fun to bring a new kind of ice cream truck to the North Shore. We searched around for weeks and ended up finding our truck in
Providence. We learned very quickly about cold-plate freezers and board of health requirements and the rest is history!

What’s your favorite part about having an ice cream truck?
Honestly, it’s bringing happiness to people. Who isn’t happy to see an ice cream truck? When we leave there is a smile on everyone’s face.

Where can people typically find The Sweet Truck parked?
Currently, due to COVID-19, we are doing deliveries only. We post our towns on Facebook and people can order for a delivery to their home. We are working with the board of health in many towns to hopefully resume to normal neighborhood driving soon.

Can I arrange for The Sweet Truck to come to my house or party?
Yes, we specialize in private events – and we have no minimum order required! We can also play, “Happy birthday” on our PA system!

Any tips for balancing work & motherhood? And do your kids always want ice cream for dinner? 🙂
Do the best you can and don’t worry about the dishes. Both of us, work very hard to provide for our families so that our kids can enjoy life as we did growing up. It’s important to put the phone down and spend the extra 5 minutes reading a book with your child, but it is also important that children understand how important it is that their mom has the opportunity to be leader and excel at work and that requires time and effort.

What is the best piece of mom advice you ever received?
Your inbox should never be at zero. If it is, your priorities are in the wrong place.

What’s your favorite thing to do when you need some “me” time?
A little pamper time with facials and massages!
