A quick browse of the website for Angela Arvanites’ small business, A Monogram Shop, will make you want to buy ALL the things and then put your initials on them. Angela has been open for business, in Hamilton, for 2 years and she has an online shop as well. But due to the personalized nature of the monogrammed products she sells, she does most of her business in the (now closed) store. Keep reading to learn how you can support A Monogram Shop during the COVID-19 crisis.
What is the name of your business and where is it located?
A Monogram Shop, 56 Railroad Ave, Hamilton.
What is your name and what town do you live in?
Angela Arvanites. I live in Hamilton with my husband and 2 children.
What type of goods or services do you provide?
I do custom embroidery and other kinds of personalization as well. You can bring your own items to me to be monogrammed or buy something in shop! I sell a fun selection of gifts with a little something for everyone!
How long have you been in business?
Why did you choose to open a business on the North Shore?
The North Shore has been my home now for many years and I wanted to be an integral part of the community.
How has the COVID-19 crisis impacted your business?
We have had to close the shop which means no revenue. I have had a website for several years but the majority of my business is done face-to-face in the shop. People love coming in to see all the font styles and monogram choices and they like being able to check out the items we sell in person. And of course we enjoy that process as well. Our customers have become our friends and we miss them. So we have been highlighting particular items on social media and offering delivery since we have many more items in store than we do on our website.
Are you currently offering any delivery, shipping or curbside pick-up of your goods or services?
Yes! Anything we have in stock is available for delivery to Hamilton, Wenham and Beverly. Call 978-626-0019 to order. We also ship online or phone orders to all towns (and states) outside of the three mentioned for delivery.
What is one way that the moms (or all residents) can help your business survive during this difficult time?
Tune in to our social media and help us grow our followers! Find us at @amonogramshop on Instagram and @amonogramshop on Facebook. Even if you don’t make a purchase now, it will help us in the future when our doors are open again!
Name another business that could benefit from the support of the North Shore Moms community.
Clutch Towels, Jan Soolman. Awesome microfiber beach towels that mommas will love for themselves and their kiddos cause they fold up so small!
On a lighter note, name one fun or relaxing way you are using your time at home during this crisis.
