I’ve heard from many of you recently, that want to find a way to help locally during the COVID-19 crisis. So here is how I suggest that we, as a community of North Shore Moms, take action from inside our homes. Today, I’m launching an online fundraiser through Venmo, to support two local food banks: Citizens Inn/Haven From Hunger (Peabody) and Beverly Bootstraps (Beverly).
*
Citizen’s Inn is working hard to provide bags of groceries to households in Peabody where children normally receive reduced or free school lunches. Beverly Bootstraps is reopening on Wed. 3/18, with a new food pantry model to better serve our neighbors in need during this crisis. Both of these organizations are following very strict COVID-19 guidelines for safety. They have also addressed A DESPERATE NEED FOR DONATIONS on their websites or social media.
*
HOW TO DONATE: This fundraiser will be hosted through my Venmo account, venmo.com/thenorthshoremoms. My name is Laura Sylvester and you’ll see that on the account. I will collect the donations and then donate the full amount to Beverly Bootstraps & Citizens Inn. THE GOAL IS TO RAISE $500 this week, so that both organizations receive a donation of $250.

You don’t need to donate much, every dollar adds up. And if you aren’t able to donate at this time consider sharing this post on your own social account, or tagging a friend. (If we’re able to exceed the goal this week, the full amount will still be donated, split between the two organizations.) Thank you.
