Let’s get outside and learn! “Winter Wonders Saturdays” is a Saturday version of our popular afternoon educational drop-off series. This program offers a chance for kids to explore, learn, and play in the fields, garden, barnyard, and forest. Appleton Farms invites kids to the farm once a week to learn to connect with nature in all seasons as we discover the wonders of winter on the farm.
During this outdoor, nature-based afternoon program, talented naturalist educators lead experiential STEAM lessons while engaging kids in activities that promote social, emotional, and academic development. Each week children will participate in learning activities, hiking, experiments, crafts, and games. Interdisciplinary learning and social interaction with peers are imbedded within our program lessons and mission.
This is an educational afternoon drop-off program for children ages 5-11 offered once weekly in two different 4-week series, February 6-27 or March 6-26 on Saturdays 9am-12pm. Children should be prepared to spend days mostly outdoors and should pack a snack and water bottle. Caregivers will be contacted after registration with more detailed program information and to complete required drop-off programming paperwork. Covid-19 health safety protocols include mask wearing, frequent hand washing or sanitizing, and most activities occur outdoors. To keep groups and staff and safe as possible, families must register for a full series of programming. Groups will include up to 10 students. Groups will include the same students for the entire series. For more information contact Ashley at [email protected]
