Tri-Town Community Solidarity Action
June 5, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 6:30 pmFree
Please join us for a Tri-Town Community Solidarity Action in support of BIPOC members of the community and beyond. All are welcome, and it is family-friendly.
This solidarity action is being organized with support by the Town of Topsfield Public Safety Team, including the Police Department, Fire Department, and Town Administrator.
This event will consist of a silent and peaceful walk around the Topsfield Commons for 8 minutes and 46 seconds in remembrance of George Floyd. This walk will be followed by a silent kneel to conclude the community action.
Please wear a mask and plan to maintain a minimum distance of 6-10 feet from others.
We ask that walking participants park their cars away from the perimeter of the Commons. Arrive early if you wish to park at the Emerson Lot. (Thanks to the Congregational Church of Topsfield for making this lot available for this).
The police will close the roads adjacent to the Commons for the walk to ensure safety and physical distancing.
If you are not comfortable or able to walk the perimeter of the Commons, please feel free to sit, kneel, or stand in your own space on the Commons. If you prefer to remain in your car for physical distance, please park nearby and display a sign of support on your car.
A drone photo will be taken of this peaceful community action, and it will also be livestreamed on social media for those who prefer to support from home.
Feel free to share this invite with other local friends and family.
