I’m thrilled to post my own interview as one of our first Meet a Mom Interviews on the brand new thenorthshoremoms.com! These interviews on our parent site, The Local Moms Network, are one of the reasons I was drawn to this community and now I couldn’t be more excited to bring a slice of TLMN to the North Shore of Massachusetts. You can look forward to new Meet a Mom Interviews on Mondays and we’ve got insight and answers from a great line-up of local moms to share with you.

Where are you from originally and what town do you live in now?
I live in Middleton, Massachusetts with my husband, son and our Boston Terrier. I’m originally from Charlton, Massachusetts and also spent many years living in the Boston area before falling in love with Middleton and the North Shore.

How many children do you have and what are their age(s)?
I have one son, Cole, who is about to turn 3.

What’s your favorite family activity on the North Shore?
We love visiting the animals and the playground at Endicott Park and getting ice cream at Richardson’s Farm.

Where’s your favorite place to eat and/or shop on the North Shore?
I love Sol Bean in Middleton for lunch, Atomic Cafe in Beverly for coffee and shopping at Roost & Company in Salem. In the fall, we always go apple picking at Brooksby Farm in Peabody and in the summer, trips to Plum Island and Newburyport for dinner or a beach day are high on the list!

What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
Before I became a mom, I owned an e-commerce shop and traveling boutique named Wander. The boutique was housed in the back of a converted FedEx truck (a.k.a. The Wander Truck). My brother and I built the entire conversion ourselves. Yes, I know how to use lots of power tools! Once it was completed I drove the Wander Truck around New England to festivals and events, selling American made home goods, jewelry and accessories. It was like a food truck, except no food and lots of fun shopping!

Through this work I met many other small business owners and artisans and was so inspired by the way they hustled day after day to make their entrepreneurial dreams come true! After I had my son I couldn’t dedicate as much time to the business as I needed…and you can’t put a carseat in an old FedEx truck, so I sold it. But I wanted to remain connected to the small business community, and I’ve done that by relying on my marketing background and working as a freelance marketing consultant.

Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share! Yes! I am the Managing Editor of this website, thenorthshoremoms.com, and The North Shore Moms social accounts. I also provide marketing services to small businesses including website design, graphic design, social media management, marketing strategy and more.

What is your go-to meal for your family?
Mac & Cheese in the Instantpot. This recipe from Pinch of Yum is my favorite. I also love baking banana bread with my son! Here is the recipe we’ve been using lately.

What is the best piece of mom advice you ever received? Everything is a phase: both the good and the bad. So be patient during the tough phases – they will pass, and do your best to enjoy the good phases!
